ANI 32 LAUNCH AND THE NATIONAL FREE PRESS

September 22, 2006

Trevor A. Hill, publisher of The National Free Press of Canada wrote me to say that they will be using my critical essay. I will soon be posting a link leading to their site and they will also be sending me a copy of their publication. It is great to know that Canadians are interested in what we write.

Also, we just turned 17 este, 27, hehe. And we have been drinking since last Tuesday, just after the Premio. We also had the OragonRepublic Writers’ Night at Lolo’s Bar last Wednesday. Ringer, our Bikol dictionary editor wanted me drunk and had me drinking bottle after bottle of SanMig Light right after the readings. And then my esmi called, saving me from my Joaquinesque state.

Also, we got word from the Cultural Center of the Philippines Literary Arts Division regarding the Ani 32 launch. Here’s the letter:

The Cultural Center of the Philippines Literary Arts Division and the U.P. Institute of Creative Writing will launch Ani 32 (Global Pinoy Issue) on September 26, 7-9 pm at Conspiracy Garden Café on Visayas ave., Quezon city.

The volume features poems and prose by 48 Filipino writers, some of whom reside abroad. The writings depict Filipinos’ interaction with foreign cultures as they work overseas, as well as describe the impact of international events on their daily lives.
